Fairport Convention's Swarbrick 'electrified the violin'
A former bandmate of the late Fairport Convention musician Dave Swarbrick says he "electrified the violin".
The fiddler, also known as "Swarb", has died at the age of 75.
Dave Pegg is a bassist with the band and said his friend was a "leader for everybody in the way that he played".
He "loved music so much", added Pegg, saying that in the album 'Rags, Reels and Airs', Swarbrick created "the dictionary of how to play the violin and the mandolin with incredible taste."
Reflecting on his friend's death, Dave Pegg said, "it's a really sad loss."
