Is there more to the world than meets the eye?

Developments in communication technologies such as telegraphy and the radio had a profound impact on the popular religion of spiritualism. Spiritualists believed that it was possible to converse with the invisible dead and the discovery that we could communicate over vast distances with unseen figures using the telegraph seemed to offer their beliefs a form of scientific verification. Philip Ball meets historian Leslie Price at London's College of Psychic Studies to find out more.

First broadcast on The Unseen - A History of the Invisible, 8 June 2016.
