Muhammad Ali was my pen pal
When a young Stephanie Meade first wrote to the boxer, she had no idea he'd reply. The boxer and the young girl swapped letters for many years. She used one of his letters to persuade security to let her into a convention where he was appearing, and was overwhelmed to find herself face to face with him. 'Who needed Superman? I had Muhammad Ali.'
