The comedian, Jimmy Tarbuck, has said Sir Cliff Richard has been "nearly broken" by an investigation into allegations of historic sex abuse.

Sir Cliff has welcomed a decision by the Crown Prosecution Service not to prosecute him, but said he was angry that he'd been publicly named at the beginning of the inquiry.

Mr Tarbuck was released without charge after spending almost a year on police bail following his arrest on suspicion of historic child sex abuse. He said the law should be changed to guarantee anonymity to those who have not yet been charged.
