Mother: My epilepsy became 'uncontrollable' when pregnant
A mother has described falling down a flight of stairs when she was pregnant due to her epilepsy.
Faye Waddams said her epilepsy became "uncontrollable" when she became pregnant with her first child.
She was five months pregnant when she suffered a seizure on her way to work and fell down a flight of stairs at a tube station.
Speaking to 5 live's Breakfast's Clare McDonnell, Faye said she is still struggling to find medication to control the illness, despite giving birth a year ago.
Women who have epilepsy are ten times more likely to die during pregnancy than women who don't have the condition and should receive more support, according to new guidance published today by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
