Juma the Jaguar's death sparks Olympic promise
A jaguar's been shot dead shortly after it was used in an Olympic torch relay in the Brazilian city of Manaus. The animal - which was called Juma - escaped its handlers after the ceremony and ran towards a soldier. After four tranquiliser darts failed to stop it, a soldier shot it with a pistol. Organisers of Rio 2016 said it was a "mistake" to display the Olympic torch next to a chained animal and promised nothing similar will happen ahead of the Games.
