The legendary coach who transformed women's basketball
Pat Summitt, the coach who won more college basketball games than any other, has died at the age of 64, five years after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. In a career spanning decades, she did not just bring huge success to her team, but transformed her sport of women's basketball. Maria Cornelius is a veteran sportswriter who covered the Lady Vols, the team Pat Summit coached at the University of Tennessee for many years. She says Pat Summitt demanded everything from her players and herself.
