
Behind Chilcot: I'd have asked Blair 'why he lied to us along'
Ahead of the publication of the Chilcot report into the Iraq War, 5 live has been speaking to the people behind the headlines.
The public inquiry was launched in 2009 into the UK's participation in the US-led invasion of Iraq, which led to the toppling of Saddam Hussein and led to British troops remaining on Iraqi soil for six years.
Valerie O'Neill's 27 year-old son Kris was killed after his vehicle was hit by IED. Corporal Kris O'Neill
served with the Royal Army Medical Corps. He was one of four soldiers killed in a roadside bomb blast near Basra.
His mother would like to ask the former Prime Minister Tony Blair "the true reason" for deploying British troops in Iraq.
