Lord Owen: politics is a blood sport
Lord Owen said he sympathizes with the MPs agonising over whether or not to leave the Labour Party.
Lord David Owen split from the Labour party himself when he was an MP in 1981 along with former Labour politicians William Rodgers, Shirley Williams, and Roy Jenkins, and set up an alternative party called the Social Democratic Party.
Lord Owen told Becky Milligan, as part of her At Lunch With... series how the original document outlining their ideas for the new party, called 'The Limehouse Declaration' came about.
