Politics is littered with accusations that the truth is not being strictly followed. But where does the line fall between the sincere desire to believe something and self-deception? Moral psychologist Dr Shaul Shalvi of the University of Amsterdam and Dr Maurice Schweitzer of the University of Pennsylavania debated moral decision-making in the process that led to the war in Iraq.
