Andy Murray’s grandfather missed Wimbledon win to look after dog
Andy Murray’s grandfather Roy Erskine jokes he wasn’t present at Wimbledon to see his grandson win the Wimbledon title, because he couldn’t find anyone to look after their dog!
Murray won a second Wimbledon title after beating Milos Raonic in straight sets, but while much of the Murray family were inside Centre Court, Erskine was watching back home in Dunblane.
“Everybody else was at Wimbledon, but I had to look after the dog,” Erskine said.
Despite not being in attendance, Erskine says he watched on with pride.
“He played so well, his tennis was remarkable,” he said.
