David Moyes must 鈥榟it the ground running鈥� after being appointed as Sunderland manager, says supporter and Olympic 1500m medallist Steve Cram.

Former Everton and Manchester United boss Moyes has replaced the new England manager Sam Allardyce at the Stadium of Light.

鈥淭he last four seasons in a row in the first 10 games of the season we鈥檝e given everyone a head start so let鈥檚 not wait until the 10th game of the season to get going and this is why this appointment was crucial,鈥� Cram said

鈥淒avid Moyes is a good choice but he will have to hit the ground running.鈥�
