All-star supervillain escapade Suicide Squad has shrugged off dire reviews to earn an estimated $135m (拢103m) in North America in its first weekend.

Cinemagoers ignored critics who dismissed it as "boring and unfunny" and "the worst of the worst".

Joe Morgenstern of the Wall Street Journal wrote a damning review of the film and Eddie Mair asked how he felt after so many people had been to see it.
