Laura Trott: Women's team pursuit gold 'unbelievable'
Team GB's Laura Trott says winning gold in the women's team pursuit 'was unbelievable'.
Trott, Joanna Rowsell-Shand, Elinor Barker and Katie Archibald beat Team USA with a time of four minutes 10.236 seconds.
The 24-year-old becomes the first British woman to win three Olympic gold medals.
The Briton said: "You try not thinking about that coming into the race, you obviously want to win gold medals.
"But it's one thing thinking about the gold medal, it's another thing thinking I could be the most successful (British) female Olympian after that race."
She had previously won gold in the team pursuit and omnium at London 2012.
Trott could add a fourth when she competes in the omnium on Tuesday in Rio.
