Dalian Atkinson: A 'mentor' to me, says ex-Villa player
A man who died after being shot with a Taser by police in Shropshire is believed to be former footballer Dalian Atkinson.
Dalian Atkinson played for Aston Villa, Ipswich Town and Sheffield Wednesday in the 1990s, and is best remembered for scoring the Match of the Day goal of the season in the 1992-3 campaign away at Wimbledon.
Speaking to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 5 live, Dalian's former colleague Ugo Ehiogu said that, when he arrived at Aston Villa, Dalian was a mentor to him.
He told Adrian Chiles that Dalian was a terrific player, and would be greatly missed.
