Donald Trump Reconfigures Campaign

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump reworks his campaign for the second time.

Donald Trump is retooling his presidential campaign along more conventional lines, after reworking his campaign for the second time in as many months. He has begun to soften his stance on immigration, and has emphasised that his long-promised deportation of 11 million illegal immigrants in the US will be humane.

Incumbent President Barack Obama has plans to follow in Donald Trump's footsteps, by paying a visit to the storm-ravaged state of Louisiana.

The foreign ministers of Japan, China and South Korea are meeting to discuss ways to improve economic co-operation and the tensions that still exist between them. But some are surprised if the meeting even happens this week.

We are joined by guests on both sides of the Pacific. Dr Qian Liu is the managing director of The Economist Group, Greater China - she is with us this morning from Beijing, while August Turak - entrepreneur, executive and author - joins us from Raleigh, North Carolina.
