Tom Daley 'wasn't tuned in' during his 10m platform semi-final, according to former mentor Leon Taylor.

Daley suffered a shock elimination, with the London 2012 bronze medallist finishing in last place, having posted a personal best score in the preliminary round.

鈥楬e wasn鈥檛 tuned in and none of his dives were working for him,鈥� Taylor said.

鈥楩or whatever reason he just wasn鈥檛 in the right place.

鈥楾he training session just before the final he was on fire but it just did not go his way,鈥� he added.

Daley has already set his sights on the Tokyo Games in 2020, and Taylor has backed him to come back stronger.

鈥業 love the fact he has said publically 鈥渟ee you in Tokyo.鈥� It鈥檒l be his fourth Olympic Games and what an occasion that will be when he challenges again for those individual medals,' Taylor said.
