Alex Gregory: A little sparrow was 'my best friend'
Olympic gold medallist Alex Gregory relived befriending a sparrow he named Sparky as a child.
Speaking to 5 live Breakfast's Sam Walker, he described Sparky as his "best friend" after hand rearing her when she fell out of her nest.
"She used to live in the garden and I'd go out in the morning and call "Sparky" and she'd fly down and sit on my shoulder".
Alex Gregory was a part of Great Britain's men's coxless four who won gold in the Rio Olympics.
