The United Airlines flight from Houston Texas had to be diverted to Shannon Airport in Ireland and forced to make an emergency landing after hitting severe turbulence. Several people had to be treated in hospital.

Gregory Giagnocavo, who was on board travelling to Heathrow to visit his daughter, said there was no warning and it was the most petrifying thing that had happened to him whilst flying.
