How to help your child with their body image
More than a third of girls aged 10-15 who spoke to the Children's Society said they were unhappy with their appearance.
Dr Aric Sigman lectures on health education and advises children, teachers and parents on body image.
Dr Sigman told Carolyn Quinn parents can transmit insecurities about their bodies onto their children and suggested various ways to help children "stop the self-focusing".
