Apple Unveils its Latest iPhone

Apple has launched its iPhone 7 - some are angry at their decision to scrap the headphone socket.

There has been an angry reception to Apple's decision to scrap the headphone socket on its latest smartphone. Users of the iPhone 7 will be encouraged to use wireless earphones instead. We hear from some disgruntled iPhone users and then from Ernest Doku, a technology expert at the consumer website uSwitch. He tells us that Apple's decision to jack in the headphone jack could end up costing consumers money.

Apple's also in the news right now for another reason. Irish MPs spent Wednesday debating Apple's tax obligations. Last week, the European Commission said Apple had underpaid tax in the Republic of Ireland by $15 billion and told the Irish Government it should collect the shortfall. Ireland's government has decided to appeal the decision. We speak to Peter Burke from the main governing party, Fine Gail, and Clare Daly, an independent socialist MP.

Formula 1 motor racing has been sold in a transaction that values the sport at $8 billion. John Malone's Liberty Media of the US will take full control of F1 by 2017 if the buyout is approved by regulators, shareholders and the sport's governing body. The chief executive of Formula 1, Bernie Ecclestone will continue in the job, but is also selling his stake. We hear from Alanis King who writes for Speedsport in Austin in Texas.

We look at the business stories gripping other parts of the globe and are joined by the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Rebecca Henschke from Jakarta in Indonesia.

In Rio, the start of the Paralympic games was welcomed with Samba, drummers from the favelas and a performance from classical pianist, Joao Carlos Martins at the opening ceremony. The Paralympics in London four years ago was regarded as the most successful yet. So will Rio do as well? We speak to Michael Payne, a former marketing director at the International Olympic Committee.
