Swedish Nobel judges fired in Karolinska medical scandal
The entire board of the medical institute Karolinska has either been sacked or resigned after a scandal involving high profile Italian surgeon Paolo Macchiarini. He was fired after some of his patients died - allegedly due to his negligence and amid reports that he used unapproved implants. One of the board members is also a judge for the Nobel Prize for Medicine. It's a blow to one of Sweden's most revered organisations says the minister for higher education and research, Helene Hellmark Knutsson.
