Iona and her granddad James find out about a boy called Lachlan who lived in the Highlands of Scotland over 200 years ago. Iona tries some Highland food, learns how to make a basket and finds out why Lachlan had to leave the Highlands and travel to other countries like Canada or Australia. They end their adventure by panning for gold, just like people did in their new Canadian townships.
