EU Leaders Agree on Need to Renew

EU leaders at a summit in Bratislava have agreed on priorities to "reinvigorate" the troubled bloc; What is video game gambling?; Trying to relaunch the Kazakhstan economy.

Twenty-seven of the 28 European Union states concluded a summit in the Slovak capital on Friday - and while the future exit of that missing member, Britain, was not formally on the agenda, it surely hung heavily over proceedings. Despite some gloomy language before the meeting, Europe's leaders were pretty upbeat as they came out. Chancellor Angela Merkel said they had a plan for the future. We ask two experts where this might lead.

Two men have appeared in a British court in what is believed to be the first prosecution involving betting on video games. The case is similar to a couple of class action suits in the United Stated which centre on gambling for in-game items known as skins. We get an explanation.

Kazakhstan is a country struggling to cope with a massive income slump following the drop in oil prices. Its minerals, too, are not worth what they once were. The national currently, the tenge, has dropped something like 45%. Time for something drastic. They are launching a new International Finance Centre in the capital, Astana - and they are touting it as the Dubai of Central Asia. Is this credible?

Two billion people eat insects as part of their diet every day. While it is a practice that makes some people queasy, experts say that bugs are high-protein creatures, and bound to be on menus of the future. Of the 2,000 edible insect species in the world, Mexico is estimated to have a quarter of them - but it is not as profitable a business as you would expect. Katy Watson reports.
