What became of the 17th century equivalent of the Calais 'Jungle'?
In September 1666 the Great Fire of London destroyed more than 10,000 buildings and made between 70 and 80,000 people homeless. What happened to all these people is rarely discussed. Dr Thomas Charlton talks to the Professor of the History of London, Vanessa Harding and Professor Justin Champion who is President of the Historical Association in Finsbury Circus and area. 350 years ago this area was known as Moorfields and was home to thousands of homeless people for years.
