'Delumptious' in the dictionary: Roald Dahl's words in the OED
On what would have been the famous children's author's 100th birthday, the Oxford English Dictionary is celebrating by including in its latest editions some of his contributions to the English language. Rebecca Kesby asked Vineeta Gupta, head of children's dictionaries at Oxford University Press, how some of these seemingly nonsensical words had made the cut.
