Brit ‘absolutely horrified’ he attempted Trump shooting

Man accused of attempting to shoot Donald Trump has pleaded guilty to lesser charges.

A British man accused of attempting to shoot Donald Trump has pleaded guilty to lesser charges. Twenty year old Michael Sandford from Dorking in Surrey, attempted to grab a policeman's gun at a rally in Las Vegas in June.

His mother, Lynne Sandford, flew to the US last week with his UK-based lawyer to see her son in custody for the first time and persuade him to sign the plea agreement. She said: “Life seems an insurmountable battle to him right now – he’s had the support of his family for the last few days, but now we are 5,000 miles apart again.”

Michael was due to stand trial later this month, but he has now pleaded guilty to being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm and disrupting an official function.

“It’s now come to light he was suffering from a delusional psychotic episode. He’s never shown interest in politics in the UK, so that’s why it’s so far-fetched – he’s absolutely horrified he attempted something like this,” added Lynne.
