Acid attack survivor takes to the catwalk

Laxmi was 15 when a man threw acid on her face while she was walking in Delhi. He had wanted her to marry him and had already been violent towards her when she rejected his advances. The attack resulted in horrendous injuries. Over the years she had to have seven operations costing thousands of dollars. Today Laxmi is a prominent campaigner against acid attacks. This week she walked down the runway at London Fashion Week to raise awareness about violence against women. She joined Rebecca Kesby in the studio, with her little baby and her partner - fellow campaigner, Alok Dixit, who translated her words.
