Man Utd: Mourinho must learn lessons from Chelsea downfall - Keown
Martin Keown says Jose Mourinho has some big decisions to make at Manchester United following three successive defeats.
Former England defender Martin Keown says Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho must learn lessons from how his Chelsea tenure ended as he looks to turnaround a run of three successive defeats.
United were beaten 3-1 by Watford in the Premier League on Sunday following losses against Manchester City and Feyenoord.
Mourinho was sacked by Chelsea in December 2015, having lost nine of 16 league games during the 2015/16 season.
“This is where Mourinho has to learn from the situation he was in last year (at Chelsea), that even the Special One can get it very wrong,” Keown said.
"He has a certain style of management and he has to choose which way he is going to go.
"I think he would be best placed trying to stick with his players but make the necessary changes.
“He’s a big manager and he’s prepared to make big decisions, but he better get it right because they’ll start to blame him for everything that goes wrong after that,” Keown said.
