Assad adviser: UN barrel bomb claims 'incorrect and irresponsible'
The American Secretary of State, John Kerry, has called for a no-fly zone to be imposed over key areas in Syria, amid entrenched divisions at the UN Security Council over who bears responsibility for the collapse of the recent ceasefire. The UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, said the Syrian government continued to barrel bomb neighbourhoods and systematically torture thousands of detainees.
In a rare interview, Bouthaina Shaaban - a key adviser to Syria's President Assad - tells Newshour the Secretary General's remarks are "incorrect, irresponsible and absolutely unfounded".
