Comedian Dom Joly who grew up in Lebanon and has visited Syria many times says it is his favourite country in the world.

He spoke of his sadness at the destruction of Aleppo.The UN said recent attacks have left nearly two million people without water.

Dom told Emma Barnett: "If anyone asks me what my favourite country in the world is - it's Syria.

"Damascus and Aleppo are both incredible cities. Then you've got Palmyra which is extraordinary."
