Richardson-Walsh: Why I love being in a team
Great Britain’s Olympic gold medal-winning hockey captain Kate Richardson-Walsh says there are "special bonds and memories that last a lifetime" from being part of a team.
Having led her side to a dramatic penalty shootout triumph over the Netherlands to become Olympic champions, Richardson-Walsh was the flag bearer for the closing ceremony in Rio.
"I see people I played with 15 years ago and memories just come flooding back of the games and the training sessions,” she said.
“There are always stories to share, and nobody else will ever know what that feels like apart from those people in the team at the time.”
