'Money accelerated my problems' - Curtis Woodhouse
Former Premier League footballer Curtis Woodhouse said having lots of money at a young age accelerated his problems.
"All though growing up, I never wanted to play football for money. I just played football because I absolutely loved it. When I signed my first big contract, money came into it and that probably accelerated my problems," Woodhouse admitted.
Woodhouse, who made his professional football debut for Sheffield United at the age of 17, retired from professional football at the end of the 2006-07 season, and later competed as a light-welterweight boxer where he won the British light-welterweight championship.
The 36-year-old now manages Bridlington Town FC, who play in Northern Counties East League.
