Blood test
A short docu-drama, broken into three parts, demonstrating the importance of Functional Skills English, speaking, listening, writing and reading and communication skills to professional relationships. In particular, this demonstrates the Level 1 skills of contributing to discussions, making contributions, sharing and responding to others’ input, offering ideas and presenting point of view.
The film is based in Wellness Centre and includes staff discussions about appropriate good practice when taking blood from clients, and an example of that procedure, plus an interview with the centre manager and one of the testing team.
In part one, the team is discussing good practice for conducting blood tests, in particular looking at how best to put clients at ease. They share ideas and experiences in an informal professional development setting.
