'Rooney's my friend, but I wouldn't play him against Liverpool'
Former Everton midfielder Leon Osman says he would leave Wayne Rooney out of the Manchester United team to face Liverpool – if he was the manager.
When asked if he'd pick the under-fire 30-year-old, Osman said: "He's a friend of mine, but personally not. I think they need to go with a strong midfield three, which takes the number 10 position away, which you'd want him in.”
United travel to Anfield on Monday.
