European exit would aid Spurs’ Premier League title quest – Nevin
Former Scotland winger Pat Nevin says Tottenham’s bid to win the Premier League title would be aided by an early exit from the Champions League.
Spurs are currently third in the Premier League, while also competing in the Champions League group stage.
“I think they’re a strong side but whether they’ve got enough strength in depth to keep it going in the Premier League and the Champions League is questionable,” said Nevin.
“If they want to be challengers and maybe even win the Premier League, the best thing that could happen to them is to be knocked out of the Champions League pretty early.
“I think both competitions are too much for them with the limited depth of their squad,” he added.
