Sean Dyche: Joey Barton 'exemplary' at Burnley
Burnley boss Sean Dyche says Joey Barton's conduct on and off the pitch was 'excellent' when he managed him at Burnley in the Championship.
The 34-year-old English midfielder has been suspended by Scottish Premiership club Rangers over a training ground row in September.
Dyche describes Barton as “top class” but also “very demanding”, adding: "I was honest with him, he was honest with me and I found that a good platform to build on.
"If he asked a question he needed an answer, but as long as you were happy to speak with him and give him an answer he was first class.”
Dyche was very coy when asked if he would like Barton to return, saying: "I've got no reason to answer you!"
