FA Chief: Next England manager not ‘just a mercenary’
FA chief executive Martin Glenn thinks the next England manager needs time to build the national team over a number of years.
Martin said: “We want someone there for the long-term, not a mercenary there for short-term gain.”
Gareth Southgate is taking care of the England squad for the next two games against Scotland and Spain.
“We think there is a psychological fear factor involved pulling the shirt on and the manager we hire needs to understand that and have a plan to address it,” added Glenn.
