
Bid for 'fullest possible access' to single market
Labour is opposed to the UK remaining a member of the single market after it leaves the European Union, the Shadow City Minister has said.
Jonathan Reynolds, a member of Labour’s shadow Brexit team, said the party’s policy was for Britain to negotiate the best possible access to the single market.
Asked by Daily Politics presenter Andrew Neil if it was Labour’s policy that the UK should remain a member of the single market, Mr Reynolds said: “No. It is the policy to try and achieve the fullest possible access to the single market.â€
