Who were the real life vampires?
Research in the UK has shed light on the origins of the vampire craze in Gothic literature. Nick Groom, professor of English at Exeter University, says that gory medical accounts of the undead from eastern Europe inspired literary creations such as Dracula. Groom, the 'prof of Goth', explains to James Menendez.
