Life as one of UK's first female fighter jet pilots
Mandy Hickson was only the second woman to fly a Tornado GR4 operationally.
Mandy Hickson:
"GR4 stands for ground attack. Primarily our task involved taking photos, initially on wet film and then later on digitally. I did three tours of Iraq."
"We were shot at...on a weekly basis. On one occasion we were targeted by a surface to air missile."
"I was leading one of my first combat missions, and we had finished the flight."
"My navigator shouted 'break right' and as I carried out the maneuvers he put out the flares."
