Danny Mills: donate match fee to Poppy Appeal
Ex-England footballer Danny Mills has told 5 live that players should donate their match fee to the British Legion saying, “it would go much further".
Mills said: “If the players are that insistent on wearing poppies, they should get a temporary tattoo and stick it on the back of their hand and when the national anthem is played put your hand on your chest for everybody to see.â€
The Football Associations of England and Scotland have said they will defy a FIFA ban on players wearing poppies when the teams meet on Armistice Day.
The FAs will let players wear black armbands with poppy emblems and are willing to accept any punishment.
