Footballer bodyguard: Premier League players are an easy target
A footballer bodyguard has said Premier League players are an easy target for criminals.
Paul Hughes, a security specialist who was David and Victoria Beckham's personal bodyguard for over a decade, was speaking in reaction to the news that police are investigating claims West Ham striker Andy Carroll was threatened and chased by armed motorcyclists.
"It's something that's been going on for several years, footballers being targeted by these gangs of people," he told Eleanor Oldroyd on 5 live Sport.
"I've got a few clients who are very worried now. They are becoming really easy targets for people at the moment."
