Man Utd ‘almost panic bought’ in previous transfer windows – Jenas

Former England midfielder Jermaine Jenas discusses Man Utd’s recent form.

Former England midfielder Jermaine Jenas says Manchester United have ‘almost panic bought’ in recent transfer windows.

United spent over £100m in the summer on Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba but lie only eighth in the Premier League table after 10 games.

“I have to say I agree in terms of that’s why Manchester United have got it wrong in a lot of their windows where they've gone buying,” said Jenas.

“They’ve almost panic bought, thinking we need to get a big star in, but they’ve not got what it takes to knit it all together.

"Even the Pogba one. Top, top player but have they got the person that’s going to get the best out of Pogba? No they haven’t.

"Have they got the player to control the game for them? Well, they’ve got Michael Carrick but he [manager Jose Mourinho] just won’t play him for some reason.

"It’s just the little bits in-between. They’re not that far off but right now he’s just so upset with their attitude that he’s obviously losing it,” added Jenas.
