Jeremy Vine: If Radio 2 had a Mount Rushmore, Sir Jimmy Young would be one of the heads on it
ѿý broadcaster Jeremy Vine has paid tribute to the late Sir Jimmy Young, who has died peacefully at home at the age of 95.
"If Radio 2 had a Mount Rushmore," he said, Sir Jimmy "would be one of the heads on it, no question about that."
Jeremy said Sir Jimmy pioneered "news you can use", by having a medical slot and a slot about the price of fruit and vegetables. Jeremy continued: “Some of the themes and questions were repeated” but “in the end you were getting a show that resonated with the life you were living”.
