The first Somali American legislator
Ilhan Omar was just elected to Minnesota鈥檚 state house of representatives. She came to the United States as a refugee almost 20 years ago. Omar is a practicing Muslim, wears the hijab and says that she is looking forward "to advocating for a crackdown on profiling".
