Meet the five year old golfer with one arm, who’s beating the professionals
Tommy Morrissey of Florida, a five year old golf player with one arm, beat 30 out of 32 professional golfers during a PGA tournament. The catch for the professionals was that they could also only use one arm.
His father, Joe, spoke to 5 live recalling the event:
“Tommy was out on the 14th tee, and he played against PGA tour pro’s. There were some of the top guys: Brooks Koepka, and Ryan Moore, Ernie Els, some really well-known names”
Joe and his wife decided to buy some clubs for a young(er) Tommy after noticing that he was copying the professionals on TV. Subsequently, Tommy has gone from strength to strength in his golfing career. When asked about Tommy’s technique his father, Joe, said:
“It’s incredibly difficult”, continuing “he hits a driver 130, which is in line with the kids that he plays with that have two hands”.
