Prison protest 'a cry for help'
The chairman of the Prison Officers' Association has defended its decision to hold a protest against what it describes as "unsafe" working conditions in prisons in England and Wales.
Mike Rolfe told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 4's PM programme that it had been "a very difficult and long day" but that the action was necessary to draw attention to the state of prisons.
The government has called the action "unnecessary and unlawful," and has been granted a High Court injunction against the action.
