The criticism of England captain Wayne Rooney following pictures of him at a wedding after Friday's victory over Scotland is unfair, according to one England fan.

Stuart phoned 5 live to challenge The Sun's Neil Ashton, who had criticised Rooney for not taking his responsibilities as England captain seriously.

Stuart said: "This has got to be one of the biggest jokes I have ever heard. Wayne Rooney goes out and has a drink. So what?

"Give the guy a break, when is somebody going to get off his case? Think of all the good he has done instead of keep picking on him."
