Leon Smith: Murray 'deserves this, he's worked so hard'
Andy Murray has finished 2016 as the world number one after beating Novak Djokovic and claiming his first ATP World Tour Finals title at London's O2 Arena.
The victor of the final game of 2016 was set to end the year on top of the rankings. Murray beat the former world number one and rival, Djokovic 6-3 6-4.
Britain's Davis Cup Captain, Leon Smith told Stephen Nolan that Murray 'deserves this' because 'he's worked so hard'.
Smith added that mother, Judy Murray is thrilled for not just Andy, but for Jamie Murray too who, along with partner Bruno Soares, finished the season as the number one doubles pair.
'It must be absolutely immense the feeling of pride and I think the overiding feeling is that we want to capiltalise on this", he said.
